In this short video, we'll take a quick tour of the capabilities of IQGeo's Network Manager Gas software, the industry's most agile network planning, design, and workflow solution. The powerful geospatial foundation connects your entire network lifecycle to accelerate processes and enable complex, interconnected networks of the future. Network Manager Gas is built on the proven IQGeo platform, giving you complete access to award -winning functionality such as layers, data sources, and data sources. Network Manager Gas, and one-line search. It also includes full online and offline mobility for iOS, Android, and Windows phones and tablets. One of the first things you'll notice about Network Manager Gas is that the user interface has all the tools and capabilities you would expect for a gas network. You can see the different layers set up specifically to manage your gas requirements, as well as a template model that enables you to display the relationships from gas mains to valves and from services to customers. There is a full data model available, plus all the compatible units that you'll need to optimize the design process. The fully connected network model is always accessible as you create designs or work within your gas network, and you can access different elements of your model through the hyperlinks in the left-hand panel, and select other tools that you can use throughout the design process. You can make changes to your model that kick off automatic workflow steps. For example, you're moving a specific valve. It has a location that needs to be corrected based on a GPS signal, or you can simply drag it to a new location on the map. You can also capture any additional attributes from barcode scans, compatible units, or other sources. When you select Save, it automatically moves anything connected to the new line to make sure it doesn't break the network model. In the model, all the valves are connected to pipes, and the service points are connected to services. Everything moves automatically together with all the inherited attributes. You have a full set of tools and palettes available in the left-hand panel that have been designed specifically for the needs of gas networks, and you can use these tools to quickly add additional equipment to your design. You also have a selection of tools available, such as customer connection capabilities. Moving to a different area in this development, you can lay out a new pipe on a curved street. In this example, you already have a design open, so you can review the version management status. Start by clearing this out, and then go to your tools and choose to connect a customer. Or you can do an offset trace for different types of configured features. You begin at one end of the street and lay out the route, up and around the corner, following the curve. In this first layout, your offset is too large, so you can easily select a 10-foot or 4-foot offset, and it automatically moves the line to the exact position for this particular gas main. Once you select Create, Network Manager positions a series of grips along the line, allowing you to change the position of the line at any point along the run. You could also have continued the offset up and around the corner, jumping over gaps with manual clicks. Next, the system will build up relationships as you add appropriate valves and compatible units. Once this is in place, you may want to see a more operational view of the network, which can be seen better in an iPad format. Here you can see a similar area where you already have a network designed, and you can use the powerful network trace capabilities. You have access to all of Network Manager's powerful trace functionality, in addition to a valve isolation capability that allows you to examine damage points and plan how best to respond to repairs. If you start by identifying a damage point on the map, the system will automatically run a network trace and locate the nearest valves. You can see them identified here inside the blue circles, with the extent of the outage highlighted in blue. On the Details panel, you can display a full list of the customers impacted by the outage, or display a list of all the affected pipes. If this particular area is having a number of issues, you can also exclude certain valves or add squeeze points to test different isolation scenarios and the impact that it will have on customers. For example, by shutting off this valve, you immediately see that fewer customers are impacted by the service interruption. And you can continue by squeezing off other areas to see if you can isolate the damage even more, to further reduce the number of impacted customers.
