Interview: IQGeo and Deepomatic at Fiber Connect
View transcript
Welcome back everyone to FNTV's coverage of Fiber Connect right here in Nashville. And we're at the IQGeo booth and I'm with Jay Cadman, SVP Americas, and Augustin Marty, CEO of Deepomatic. Thanks so much for joining us guys. Thank you. Jay, let me start with you. Exciting news. Obviously, you're already partners, but IQGeo is in the process of acquiring Deepomatic. Can you tell us about why that was a strategic decision and how you guys fit together? Yeah, so for quite a few years we've been looking to invest in the AI space. The challenges we found are basically finding something that scales to the size of our customers and works. And so we're very pleased to be in the process of acquiring Deepomatic, and we think it's basically the next frontier in terms of asset manager. So this will allow our customers to have an accurate digital twin which we've never been able to achieve before. Yeah, yeah. And Augustin, from your perspective, you know, what are you hearing from your customers and partners? What do they think? But also, what are the benefits to them that you think comes from this strategic acquisition of your company? So things were very different before and after the acquisition because, before that we were purely self-validation use case. So technicians or field workers taking pictures, we automate the quality control, we make sure things are done right the first time, which is a great use case. It allowed us to grow until a certain stage. But when we have realized that with IQGeo, we can use that use case not only to work on quality control, but also to make sure that every single picture is analyzed in order to understand everything about the physical reality, the physical reality of the network and then upload that in the system of record. We allow the full 100% accuracy of the system of record, which is the foundation for much more advanced use case, much more advanced automation use cases, but also the identification of the network. Yeah, brilliant. And Jay, let me turn to you here and I'd love to hear both your thoughts, but we can start. I have it written down because I didn't want to get it. I'm going to get the big words all wrong, but you're talking about previewing the new autonomous network management AI agents. So for folks like me, can you tell us a little bit about what they are and perhaps more importantly, what are the key benefits there? Yeah, so really what we want to do is provide the ability for our customers to use their field course in order to capture data out of it. And not just the data that's right up front then, but in the background, capture, any data about their network, bring it back automatically updated to digital twin. And that, that might not sound very exciting. But to a telecom operator, there's never been able to be achieved before. And it's the basis, as we're saying, for all the types of automation you want to do. And in terms of on top of your network from the plan, design, operate, and monetize. And so that's why we're so excited about finding somebody whose technology we think can actually achieve that in combination with our solution. Brilliant. And Augustine, what about from your point of view? From my point of view, it's very exciting because we are becoming the AI center of excellence for IQGeo and once you have that accurate digital twin, you can pile up additional AI-based cases. So we are building, and this is already becoming a reality agent that are doing some tasks in addition to the workforce. So let's take a few examples. Agents can navigate Google Street View to extract contextual information about the type of pavement or analyzing, doing automatically audits on poles. We can dig, and we can dig, and we can dig, crunch all the database that are, that are now accurate, and do some, automatically some business intelligence. So it brings a lot of additional capabilities. And I think that previously IQGeo was like Building Better Network, which is still 100% true. But now I would say we are about to just Build Better Networks with just less resources. And I mean like, you can build more with the same number of employees. You can build more with the same quantity of material because you build better quality. You don't need to replace your equipment. So it's super exciting to be part of this journey with IQ.GO. Yeah, well, I can sense it and I can see the excitement. This booth has been busy all day today and yesterday, clearly it's resonating. So Augustine, Jay, congratulations and thanks again for talking to us today. Thank you. Thank you very much.
