Network Manager Telecom 3.5 new functionality: BOM reporting by ID.

Hi, I'm going to give you a quick overview of the enhanced BOM report dialogue. We're looking at the change log here. So the ticket is 4093 and what we're doing is we've added the dialogue that allows you to create BOM reports based on different kinds of selections. So the first option that we have here is the current selection, which is you're going to build that report off of the BOM report. We're going to be generated off of whatever selected right now and that could be generated off of a query could be generated off of the selection map tool. The second option is we're going to query by ID where you have an ID could be design ID. So you've posted a design that design doesn't exist anymore, but the design ID has been written for all the features that were in that design. So you can still create reports from that. And then the final option is you can click a polygon. Let me just go ahead and jump in here. What I've done here is I've created a selection just by creating a simple polygon here. So I'm going to go here, here, then I'm going to eliminate everything except for manholes. So right now I've got eight objects selected, eight manholes. So I'm going to click on my tool palette, scroll down a little bit, go to BOM report. And then I presented with the dialogue that has the three options that I just went over. The first one being using current selection from search box query or selection map tool. So that's what we've done here. We've created a little triangle and made sure that we're only selected. Manholes. So I'm going to generate the selection option. I'm going to generate the report and you can see we've got 18 structures now with different material and labor costs, obviously, and then some values right there. So the second option, which is a little more complicated in the bottom report is this query by ID. As I mentioned before, you can query by design ID. That design ID will be written when you post your designs or publish your designs. But I've added the configuration for a couple of ideas. But I've added the configuration for a couple of extra IDs here. One's called project ID and one's called custom ID. And how I did that was I went to my config. And I've added this, my YCOMBOM report section to the advanced config. And the values are, there's an array called ID fields, design ID. As I said, that's there by default, but I've also added these project ID and custom ID. Now, in order for that to work, obviously, I have to go back to my features and add that. So if I go to the manhole stored fields, you can see down here, I've added custom ID. It's a string. If I go to layout and then scroll down to the bottom, you can see I've added custom ID to my layout. So if I go to. So if I go to this manhole right here, you can see that I've populated that custom ID with a value of test one. So I could do a query. Select object. Custom ID. Custom ID. Test one and run it. And you can see that I've assigned the value of test one to the field custom ID to these two manholes, 244 and 245. And similarly. For test two. You can see that I've assigned it to three manholes, 117, 118 and 116. This is just simply to demonstrate. So I'm going to clear my selection here. And go to bomber towards query by ID. This dropdown should show the additional IDs that I specified in config. I'm going to give it the value of test one, click generate report. And now I'm going to see two structures here. The two that I mentioned before with those values there. You can see that the specification is we're grouped by specification here. So there's two with that spec and that's what they look like. Similarly, just to do it again, if I were to go back here and now say test two, a different ID. And now you can see I had three structures with these three different specs and then the appropriate material and labor costs for those particular manholes. And then finally, the last option for bond report is use polygon selection. And this might be one of the more intuitive ones where basically I just select a polygon. In this case, I'm selecting a design polygon that has not been published. And I'm going to click generate report and it's going to find every feature that's inside that polygon and then generate a bill of materials report from that. So you can see this is quite a bit bigger than some of the others that we've looked at. But that's every cable, every conduit route and structure that's in this particular well and equipment that's in this particular polygon. So that's it. I hope that was clear. Thank you.
