Network Manager Telecom 3.5 new functionality: Port & strand capacity reporting.

I'm going to show you a couple of different ways to bring up capacity reports both for equipment and cable. So the first and probably easiest way is to just pick either a structure or a piece of equipment or cable for that matter off of your map and then right click go to port capacity report and then it will traverse down the map. down the tree and show you all of the contained equipment. Here you can see you know for multiplexer 24 we're showing both sides for OLTs we're only showing the outside because that's all there is. And then it gives you the side the port count how many are used and how many are lit and that's a configurable value that I've set up here. I've said I'm interested in which ones are lit and which ones are used but it could be reserved it could be broken it could be any status value that you've set up here and then it says how many are marked as available and what percent that represents out of your total and then that's true all the way down the tree. One thing to note here is that threshold of 80% is the default. So if I were to go to that OLT number six. OLT number six and then edit it. You can see right down here there's a value called threshold 0.8 representing 80% and you can set that value to whatever makes sense in your organization. That's the value that will be used later on when you're creating circuits to tell you if you're over the threshold or still okay. And let me go ahead and pick a cable over here and do sort of the same thing so you can see I could either select the route or a cable. In this case I'll just pick the cable. Go to strand capacity report and here it will show me again the total strand count, the number that are used, the number that are lit, and the number that are marked as available. There are a couple of other ways to generate these, primarily from selection up here. So, for example, if I wanted to create it off of a polygon or a rectangle, I can go in here. I've got some equipment, so I'm going to remove that. I can go in here and just go with routes. And then when I drop down and say generate report, it pulls up a strand capacity report based on the feature set of my selection. So, in here I can see my primary cable, a couple of risers, a bunch of drops, and all of their corresponding values for strands, the number used, number available, and the available percentage, just like we saw before. If I wanted to go up here and say maybe do a query, we'll say port available in window. We'll add a couple of things. Maybe this time we don't care about the OLTs. We just want to see the patch panels on the shelves. Click generate report. Because everything is equipment, it should generate a report based on the feature set for the port capacity report. And you can see all of the things that I have selected show up here with the same values that they had before. So that's it.
