Hello, my name is Chad Smith, Principal Solutions Architect for IQGeo. In this short video, I will review how as-built updates can be captured using Network Manager Telecom. Using Network Manager Telecom, field operations and construction teams can document as -built updates through design state modeling to assure as -builts are documented and returned in a timely manner, while online or offline from any device. These updates can be optionally captured in read-only, redline markup fashion, or the organization can extend database editing capability to certain user groups through configuration. In this demonstration, I'm presenting on an iPad to simulate a field user documenting as-built updates against a newly constructed HFC extension. We start by using the one-box search to navigate to the HFC node we're updating. We next zoom into the area where the as-built survey is taking place and create a new as-built update design job type to contain all of the edits and redline markups we'll collect in this session. With Network Manager Telecom, organizations can configure their own design job types, design job property models, and design state models for the types of work they plan to support using Network Manager. With this design job open, all edits, insertions, deletions, and markups will be stored as components of this as-built markup session. We'll focus on simpler property edits in this example, but more complex physical location changes are also supported while using Network Manager Telecom in the field. We next select and review the property information on the newly constructed features we plan to update, and then choose Edit to change any inaccurate information seen post-construction. For this amplifier as-built update example, we'll be making changes to forward input level and pad values, which we'll see reflected in the amplifier data block after saving our changes. On updating the end of the line tab, we also see the end of line data block update with our correct import values. We'll use Network Manager Markup tools to leave notes on the map, giving a brief description of the as-built updates performed in the as-built update session. Typically, the task of publishing these as-built changes to the master level of the database is performed by someone in the office after a design quality and database conflict checked is performed. It's also possible to allow field technicians to perform the quality check and publish actions, but this process up to the organization to define for their users. Once the update work is completed, a change set report displays all changes made in this design session. In summary, IQgeo's Network Manager Telecom solution allows field operations and construction teams to capture post-construction as-built updates while online or off-lane in the field on any mobile device. This capability helps organizations document important as-built changes that, if not documented, can cause higher operational spends due to field techs not being properly informed when responding to maintenance tasks and poor customer experience due to longer outages from lack of accurate network documentation.
