In this video, we will perform a redline with items from the markup pallet. Specifically, we're going to utilize an existing design, the same design from the previous video where we use the McKinsey Street design layout. From here, the crew has reached a point in their build of the construction project where some of the changes need to be redlined in the design. Notably, some changes to the equipment used, structures, and rather than document these changes at the end of the project, it can be done on site and in the field. Today, we'll portray the use case of a field user in the field making changes to the design, actively and directly live to the data in the proposed state. And then we'll make some notable changes and make notes with the markup tool to give some notes and record some items that might have changed to go back to the office post-construction. So to start, what we'll do is, well, we need to make a couple of changes. Specifically, what needs to happen is we need to swap out a change to this pole, which is going to have a streetlight constructed on it in a few projects downstream. So we're going to utilize closing the markup palette, opening the tools palette, and we will use the replacement tool. From here, we will select the structure. We will flip this on, come in, field type is required. We are selecting a sports structure still. But what we need to do is we need to select the update to make this a wood streetlight slash service pole. Since there will be a streetlight installed in the near future, we will go ahead and give it the same information that's required. It is in use. Same substation, same feeder ID, and same light as the previous ones. It is class 4. Material, wood, we'll click save, and then we'll perform the change. This has been documented as a change, as you can see the change in symbology. But what we'll need to do is we want to use some notes with the markup palette to inform the back office once these changes have been made to be made to the the production database before posting. So what we want to do is we also want to come in and we want to shut off the changes, meaning we need to go in and turn the designs, the boundary off, and we want to enable the markup palette. So we want to use the point in this workflow. And then we could select identify important information. This would be the same as before. And we will change this to be significantly larger. And place it around the pole. We'll click save. It might need to be larger because the pole's symbology is significantly different. And then from here, if we click off of it, we'll have to make sure that the markups are turned on. We might have to add them to the map. Click add. Click add. And we have the symbology around the pole. Here we'll also add some texts. We went ahead and placed the text box. We'll make some changes to the layout and the posting of the notes. Notice this is using a different preset. We'll click save before we change anything. But we use a preset previously set up for equipment replacements instead of the text to identify important details. This one is just to notify, hey, it's in red. It's alarming. Not necessarily alarming, but important so that it could be informative for the office to understand. We'll click cancel. Next, a change needs to happen at this pole here because there's an obstruction that was found during the construction phase where this pole had to be moved to the opposite side of the right of way. So what we want to do is we want to select the structure. We will click edit. Location. Move the pole over some. Everything else will move with it. We'll click save. The pole location moved. You'll see the offsets moved with it. And now we know that the pole is on this side instead of right next to it. The reason why is because there's an obstruction that is located there. So we're going to place a point using the obstruction. And we are going to place this here. Near where the obstruction was found. Click save. Here we went ahead and placed some text. So this can be documented and informed in the office. The reason why the change is made to the pole. The reason why is because we have an obstruction. Specifically, a tree found on the property near the right of way on the back part of the parcel. Again, the parcel outline is found under the Dixon parcels layer. This is still within the right of way boundary. Lastly, what we needed to do is, in the design, we originally had a single phase overhead transformer. But how we want to model this is with the transformer bank because we want to make sure that we have a site that banks the records together. While this may only be a single phase transformer, this helps with the data model as far as recording purposes and for data model compliance, so to speak. So what we will do is, we will select the structure. We will use the replacement tool. We will select. It will interpret everything that's on that pole. You'll see the transformer specifically in this case. We'll switch that on. Go ahead and swap this over to the transformer bank. Make sure everything was assigned. As required. We will give it the substation. And the feeder number. We will click save. And then hit save on the replacement tool. What will happen is the equipment will be swapped out. It will now have a transformer bank. There. Just so that we have that position. And the change accommodates that this is now removed from. Not necessarily the design specifically, but it's replaced. And then the downstream and upstream connectivity is put in place with the transformer bank being set. And then we could also note that the single overhead phase or single phase overhead transformer is now swapped out with the bank. And we will have a single phase transformer accompanying the bank as well. The connectivity. The connectivity. The connectivity. Since the. Network manager electric data model requires containers. In the sense of containment. We have to look at it from the point of view that the connectivity is built at the bank. And then the single phase overhead transformer will be inside of the bank. Housed with inside of it specifically. So what we want to do next is. Turn on the markup pilot. And notice. There's a change that was made here prior. So what we want to do is we want to note the change as far as the replacement that took place. So we will go in and we will. Locate the area with the boundary around the pole. So we will choose a different markup. We'll place that in the map. Click save. Notice those features aren't on because they are disabled at the moment. So now it's a scale. We could derive the location of where that. Markup layer turns on and turns off. Depending on the zoom level that we have identified. So from here. We'll make sure that we want to accommodate taking notes. We'll place the notes at the same location with the leader line. And then we'll also utilize the same preset that we talked about originally. With the use of the equipment replacement preset. For the text to be placed. Lastly, we replaced the transformer replacement. And made sure that the note was made. So we will relocate the note. So that we can see the network extension that's taken place. We'll click save. Now that the markups are complete. We can. Continue to either work in our build process. Depending on the stage of where we're at in the project. We can continue to make additional changes in the field. Until the project is complete. And then sent back for the office for quality. Assurance. Before being posted to the as built state of the database and GIS.
