Fiber Stories
Clearwater County
Deploying fiber networks efficiently in complex landscapes with visual AI.
Adopting Deepomatic Lens through the IQGeo platform, Clearwater County transformed quality control and project management. Field workers now capture task photos via mobile, instantly validated by AI for accuracy. This ensures first-time-right execution, reduces costly reworks, and delivers real-time as-built documentation to supervisors. The integration boosts efficiency, scalability, and accuracy, streamlining fiber rollout across challenging terrain.
*IQGeo Deepomatic Lens is now known as NetLux AI.

Music This project is going a long ways to help a lot of people across this county get connected. This is an area that has almost no cellular service. Some of the low-earth orbit satellite stuff doesn't work because you're in the shadow of a rocky mountain. Clearwater County has undertaken an open network model with multiple internet service providers offering their services over county infrastructure. And that's going to mean competition, fair prices for consumers. It will enable fiber optic connectivity to most of the residents and businesses within Clearwater County. It's very expensive to get to those spots. It's challenging because of the terrain, rock, etc. We are in the Rocky Mountains. Don't think you're just going to build a broadband internet. There's so many moving pieces. Us working with Arcadis, we've really used them to fill in where we can't as a small group. Our approach is always to be a trusted advisor, helping clients find funding to do projects. We're often retained as project managers, designers, construction managers, right through to the operations of a network where we offer solutions for clients that are scalable, allow them to operate the networks very efficiently and cost effectively. About five years ago, we recognized that we needed to move to the next generation of design and management tools. IQgeo offered the best in class solutions. We've had very successful project outcomes as well as ongoing support arrangements with many customers. As we go into construction, we're already thinking about operations and equipping the county with best in class software tools and solutions to help the county operate the network very efficiently, maintain accurate fiber asset records and use technologies such as AI to continually improve the quality of the network and optimize operations well into the future. Arcadis uses a tool called IQgeo's ComSoft Auto Design. It's a rapid conceptual design tool. We used it on Clearwater County Project to help define early budgets, define early plans and come up with what this network actually might look like. That data is moving into IQgeo's Network Manager, which is enabling incredible project management, construction management, execution. And stacking on top of that, we've got diplomatic AI, which is helping us execute better than ever. Arcadis is supporting Clearwater County with construction managers and quality assurance personnel in the field. Those teams are using IQgeo's Network Manager telecom on a daily basis. They're looking at their tablets and looking at what's being constructed in front of them. They're updating the status of those routes and those structures on a daily basis within the solution. That's all funneling into our project managers who update dashboards, keep the stakeholders, Clearwater County staff and their counselors and broadband team up to date. All our digital and as-built that were typically on paper, they're now created in a digital environment. Everyone has access to that digital system. We deliver quality data to our contractors. They design detailed designs around that. We collect GIS and field level data. We're down to meters, not miles to find something. That's a huge difference in just efficiency and if it's a repair. Getting it fixed on time is massive. Through the integration of IQgeo, we've been able to publish nearly real-time results onto a customer-facing website, allowing citizens to look up their address, giving them a view when broadband will be coming to their door. The outcomes of this project are youth will have access to information that they might not otherwise have at their homes. We know people drive to town to get connectivity. Let's get them the information at their homes and the entertainment at their homes. For the elderly, it's a challenge to live in place and live in home and I think that that's one of the key goals as the demographic ages. Clearwater County is oil and gas-based agriculture, but this gives them a chance to branch out to data centers, distance learning. A lot of kids can't afford to go to university, but they can certainly do it from home. Just a quality of life in general for the residents and the businesses. Music Music Music Music Music
