My name is Colin Rose and I'm the founder
and president of Daystar Communications.
We are a competitive fiber provider in mid-Michigan.
What we do at Daystar Communications is provide
business and residential communication services.
We initially deployed IQGeo in 2010,
so we've been using the solution for about 12 years now.
We provide most of our services over our own fiber optic network.
In a fiber optic network,
it's all about connections and there are a lot of
connections and keeping track of all of those connections,
which we call splices,
is something that IQGeo does for our company.
Without that documentation and that database of splicing,
we would be lost.
When we first started using IQGeo,
our network documentation was
275 flat text files for every splice closure.
Today,
we have over 1500 splice cases in our network and it would be
impossible for us to manage our network documentation without IQGeo.
At Daystar,
we are not always the first option for internet for
customers and sometimes we're not even the second option.
We're the third competitor in the market.
So,
strategically,
we've recognized that there are three anchors that
will make us win and be successful as a business.
Those three anchors are delivering a high value product,
providing an excellent customer experience,
and having an employee-focused culture.
In different ways,
IQGeo actually helps us achieve all three of these.
Without IQGeo,
we'd be looking at hard copy maps,
we'd be cross-referencing data in different places.
With IQGeo and that single source of truth,
we can quickly find routes,
fibers,
and repair cuts, etc.
IQGeo is all about saving time for us.
