Network tracing is a key feature in managing your fiber infrastructure. Network Manager allows you to trace bi -directionally from any asset in your network. In this scenario, we'll look at one of the patch panel ports. From here, you can easily issue a downstream trace. The application traces quickly and reaches all of the assets connected to this port. Mousing over an asset displays more details and the distance from the origin port. You can also trace in a reverse way, by picking one of the ONTs and quickly tracing upstream. Here, the trace information reaches all the way up to the patch panel. Port 1, which is 923 feet from the ONT. Network Manager supports OTTR type traces, where you can select an individual fiber, a port, and specify a particular distance. As you can see, this trace stops here, which is 600 feet from the origin of the trace. This might be a possible fiber cut location. You can also perform bulk tracing from a set of fibers or ports. Network tracing functionality is available for designers in the office and for technicians troubleshooting in the field. This streamlines the troubleshooting process, decreases mean time to repair, and creates happier customers.
